seems to me that this is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.
youth clubs provide a safe controlled environment for young people to enjoy themselves of an evening. i'm quite sure that all the complainers would complain a whole lot more if the said youths, with nothing to do spent their time running riot, vandalising property, hanging round in groups on the streets etc etc. what would you see as a solution? lock all young people in their rooms untill they are 18? or is it a case of give them somewhere to go as long as its nowhere near where i live? |
