cctv in Rhyddings Park

Yesterday they laid the foundation for the new CCTV camera in the park just inside the Rhyddings Street gate. It will be able to see around the park, in particular it will be able to see the kiddies play area.

This is one of four new CCTV cameras that are being installed in Oswaldtwistle. They are the full size 'proper' CCTV cameras and will be connected to the Greenbank monitoring station.

Find the war memorial in Ossy - it's at the bottom of Rhyddings Street, go straight up that street and the main entrance is right at the top.

Do you know where the three other new cameras are going to be put?

On Union Road at the end of Trinity Street I think it was. The forth one will come to me.

I am sure I mentioned all 4 before on here.

Re: cctv in Rhyddings Park

Thanks Kate - just read that - 3 only in Ossie.

I asked because I wondered if Heys Playing Fields might get one.

In some ways it would be a good thing to keep away-
1 - the arsonists from the allotments
2 - the mucky dog owners who dont pick up the poo
3 - the mini motorbikes, trial bikes and quad bikes that churn up the grass
4 - the boy racers who do handbrake turns on the car park on Friday nights

On the other hand,
I wouldn't be able to strip off in the bedroom with the blinds/curtains open :D

Suspected that was why you asked Margaret .. would seem an ideal place to install one I would think. E-Mail the council and ask if they have any plans, may take a while to get back to you, but they usually do eventually.

Would be a small sacrifice to close your blinds at night .... now fellas no rushing up there at night please to watch Margaret's striptease act .... :)

So you won't have to nip out and change the tape then, :D
How are they linking the camera back to Greenbank ? is there a wifi hot spot in the park, they could be lucky
BT Openzone - Search for a hotspot

Joking apart, the installation of CCTV should help control the Yob problems in the area, and I am sure that the local residents will welcome the camera.
Excellent news

I think we should all congratulate the 7 ossy councillors and members of Friends of Rhydings Park for the effort that has been put in over the last few years to get these much needed CCTV Cameras. It seems people are only to ready in criticising councillors but lets not forget the good work that they do do. So seeing there are no councillors on this site that I know of take bow Neil and Gayle from Friends of Rhyddings Park:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy

Adding to that, I don't think you should forget the Rhyddings Park Neighbourhood Watch and their committee, they started the ball rolling in the first place.
