That's HBC for you, I had to search to find them, they were not at the bottom of the page as indicated

Think the plan for the Straits, the suggested extended boundary of the conservation area and the comments about some of the house alterations, and shop fronts on Union road etc. are interesting and make for good reading.

It is also a great shame that Rhyddings Hall is not still standing, mind that was another property that suffered through lack of maintenance. The park itself has also suffered from a lack of maintenance over the years as have most of the parks in Hyndburn, but that is another issue.

Just started looking at the Rhyddings one, whats all that crap on page 2? Is it a printing error or something?

I'm pretty sure that's correct Neil.

The original house was called Riddings house, it was then knocked down and called Rhyddings Hall - i don't know whether the spelling change was an accident or because of a different family.

They use the Y spelling on pages before and after it. I wondered about the I spelling but checked and found the Y before and after so I was confused. It is easy to confuse me though.

Do you get an error on the last page or is that just me as well?

You don't expect HBC to get it 100% correct do you :D

The foundations of the hall were visible when I played there mid to late 40's
I was born and lived on the older side of Hornby St - I often wondered why the houses on the side nearer the park were bigger and had a different layout (built later)

You might be seeing them again in a couple of years.

This was what I referred to as crap above.

There appears to be a phone number in there with the dialing code and number the wrong way wrong. What does all that mean and why is it on there?

I have a hard copy! ;)

Re: Rhyddings & Straits Conservation Plans

One strange difference between the web version and the hard copy is that the copy I have uses the NEW Hyndburn logo (the crest) but the web version seems to have the old one!
