?Lives at risk? as arsonists torch Oswaldtwistle shop (From Lancashire Telegraph)
It appears that somebody tried to torch a shop on Blackburn Road Westend last night

The flat above that shop has recently featured on 'to let' sites.
I have just checked, and it now isn't - so some poor soul was living there.

was it on the right as you go to Blackburn cashy, there was once a paint wholesaler had a place opposite or near the bottom of Newton Street

It's on the right, going to Blackburn and it's opposite a church.
Last time I came home it was a Mongolian restaurant, before that it was a flower shop, before that a paint shop and finally a coop

It's great coming from Sicily and be able to beat all you local wizards!!

Its so long since I've been over that neck of the woods, wasn't sure just where the shop was, the Church must be West End Methodists, where I was first Married (the wife's church) I know there was a paint shop there in the early eights as I was in hospital in Bury with a guy who worked from there as a paint rep

The fire engines were out again last night. There was a fire behind Ossy general store ( I think that's what it's called) Just before you get to Badge Brow. We walked passed about 6pm and the fire engine turned up with 2 police vans.
