There was an article in the Observer a couple of weeks ago about a lady who had opened a dresmaking/alterations shop in Church street arcade in Accrington, sorry can't remember the name of it but might be worth a look

thanks for taking the time to reply, been in town last night and walking from jade gardens (cantonese restaurant and takeaway)not far from the police station, the traffic lights there,i think its Abby street, just between a plumbing/kitchen shop and the Arden Inn there is the sewing box ,giving them a ring this morning.

What a coincidence, just when you were looking for curtain alterations and asking for folks help on here, fate takes you for a walk to the very shop you need and in less than 24hours as well, with luck like that I'd do the Euro lottery this week if I was you.

Wow, until now I didn't believe in Karma.

You know your problem Less ? You're a miserable old cynic so you are ! Why, these most fortuitous circumstances always come around, how many times have you lost a ring & been so despondent, you nip off to the fishmongers for a bit of haddock for yer supper & to make you feel better, lo & behold there inside said piscine is your lost precious ? :D

I suppose you don't believe in Fairies at the bottom of the garden either ?

The aformentioned shop is in the arcade, you won't see it at night. :)
