Re: Golden Cross
sign of the times, its a crying shame some of these old boozers carry a great deal of memorys,(history) the golden cross was one of my early watering holes, excuse the pun, tinker, blackdog, cant even remember the names of some of them, bull up newlane, shoulder of mutton, brit, coach and horses, farmers glory, I think I maybe had a problem in my youth,

Re: Golden Cross
I got told about 6 months ago that a group was trying to get funding for a "drop-in" style addiction centre - might all have come to nothing by now though.

Re: Golden Cross
If the Church Commercial is anything to go by they will just ignore it like it's not there and leave it to rot and turn into another blot on the local landscape as a reminder of better times.
This subject could be a great idea for a voting competition to A: What would you like done with the site and B: What do you expect will really happen to the site. |

Do like they did in the highlands, knock everything down turn it over to sheep and force Ossy folk to wander to the coast to make a living from fishing? No, that won't work, the sea's overfished already, damn two hundred years too late! |
