Now you've gone and reminded me what parks used to be like! I think they abandoned paddling pools to stop children drowning, although I never remember anybody drowning in one when I was a kid.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a sudden influx of money and all the parks in the borough could be restored to their former glory. Stop dreaming Willow, it will never happen.

Re: the all weather pitch.
He'll never be able to sell the Stop & Rest now!

Bet the people will be up in arms on Edinbugh Drive though, it was bad enough re: the lights in the playground.
There is a defo need for it though, might have been better on the Heys though.

That's a good idea, give the lads on the scramble bikes a bit more light. Be better for the CCTV as well. ;)

I used to live close to one of the all weather, lit play areas in Burnley ( shhh don't tell anyone I used to live in Burnley is was a log time ago). It was rare to see kids hanging around on the street corners because they had somewhere to go. I never had a problem with noise because it had been sensibly sited to avoid annoying nieghbours. Burnley used to have several and I always thought they were a superb idea.

There is a need for an all weather pitch, The one at the top of the Heys playing field used to belong to Rhyddings school, but is little more than a cinder hard core pitch.
Re: the quad bikers, they go in the park too, have you never seen them? Little kids on bikes, who buys the petrol?
Won't the new lights light up Park Lane if they're lit on pylons and pointing your way? l for one look forward to seeing what you lot get up to down there. :)

No, if it's on the old play area the lights will be directed across at you, you'll be able to read the paper at night, without putting the lights on :D

He has no time to reacd the paper, he is on here all night :).

I am sure that any lighting would be local lighting designed to light up the play area and not the whole of Ossy.

The old play area isn't big enough for a full size pitch unles they extend it.

They'd have to be pity strong lights for me to read all night by as l live near the nature reserve. l was going to spy on you from my Mum's and then go home when fully satisfied.

No, they would fit a small all weather pitch on there, after all it will only be for the under 12 year old's, so a full size pitch would be to big. Thought I saw you going back home the other night ;)

Your dream may come true, heard HBC have found some grant or other, that seems to be the name of the game today. Don't do any maintenance in your parks, then look out for grants to rectify what you should have done as a matter of course.

l think if they do decide to build a small all-weather pitch, in the hollow where the old play area was it's a daft idea.
The reason it was moved was because it was hidden, it was a meeting place for the hooligans. Now they'll be able to vandalise in all-weathers without getting their trainers muddy.

Park381, was you in the tree as l left the drive? l saw you watching me, l hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell out of it? :)

If you see me again shout and say hello, intoduce yourself l won't bite. Unless you are a squirrel and really do live IN the Park, as this would freak me out and make me think l've taken my tablets at the wrong time. :)
