Hi, Derek Emms is another ex-Accrington School of Art (i.e. old Grammar School, along Blackburn Road) - He creates individual pieces in stoneware and porcelain.

He was born 1929 at Clarence Rd, Fern Gore, one of a family of 8 children
The family moved to Staffordshire in 1955 and he took a lecturing post at the College of Art there.

DO ANY OF OUR MEMBERS KNOW OF ANY FAMILY WHO WENT TO THE ACCRINGTON SCHOOL OF ART AND WHO MAY HAVE PIECES OF ARTWORK - POSSIBILITY OF THERE TO BE AN EXHIBITION OF EX-PUPILS WORK AT THE HAWORTH ART GALLERY IN ACCRINGTON IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE.

Yes, Dennis Duckworth went to Accrington School of Art but I am sure that you may know of his work from the exhibition held at Haworth Art Gallery last January/February (2004). Dennis was born in Midland Street in 1911 and died last December having only just moved back to Lancashire after living in London for over 55 years.
