Songwriters

I may well have got this wrong (heaven knows the mind is not what it was) but I have a vague recollection of the song "Needles and Pins" being written by an Accringtonian. My old boss Neil (once of the James Boys fame) insisted it was so but that some American had nicked the copywright. Anyone else know about this?

Quite right, David, written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche, who was a producer and songwriter in LA. No Accy connections as far as I'm aware.
