AccringtonWiki

Right i've seen this done before on a gaming forum and it was quite sucessfull so I decided i'd set up a wiki for Accrington much like there is wikipedia for general stuff.

The idea is that everyone contributes, makes new pages, edits other pages to make them better, etc. It can be about a user on here e.g. you might want to make a page called Cyfr describing what an annoying tory I am, or perhaps a page about AccringtonWeb, the history, how it started, when it started.

It dosn't even have to be about AccringtonWeb! You could write about absolutly anything to do with Accrington.

Hopefully if it takes off it will be a good interesting resource (and something else to steal your life away)

Theres help on the site for how to use it, all you need is to sign up and get start posting, you'll figure your way around it!

ps. You can even edit the main page to make it look better. I could use somebody whos good at photoshop to make a little logo to replace the current one too.

Comments? :D

(I'll come back and have another look at this. It seems like a great idea. I just hope people don't use it to be offensive about someone they disagree with about something on here.)

Hopefully this won't happen as anybody can re-edit things to remove offensive bits, however this means that somebody could deface something, but older versions are still kept and can be reverted back to.

If it becomes a problem from say a certain user, it can be blocked, but im sure the community will be able to keep it under control much like they do here. :)

Okay im terrible at creative writing but i've attempted to write a little bit about myself to give people an idea.

Click here to see it: http://cyfr.co.uk/accrington/index.php?title=Cyfr

You might notice the little blue box which has some details in, I thought i'd be good to put these on articles about certain users. You can do that by going to the help at http://cyfr.co.uk/accrington/index.p...Help:User_Info

All you do is paste that code on to the new article you're making and replace the bits AFTER the = sign.

If you're putting a users picture on (or avatar) you upload by clicking the upload link on the left when you're logged in. Then you can insert the picture by replacing 'uploadthis.jpg' with the name of the picture you uploaded.

If you need any help reply here :)
