I spent a night looking at porn.....

Well that got your attention didn't it?

But it's not true, what really happened was something like this:-

I recently bought a new P.C. I've kept my old one going for long enough and had to admit the amount of components that I would have to buy to get it to run the way I wanted meant finally I would have to get a new one.

I won't bore you with the specs they are what I think are right for me.

This new P.C. came with Norton installed and a years subscription for firewall anti-virus etc, etc.

Norton being Norton, well to be honest I don't like it, it spends too long telling me what a good job it's doing rather than doing the job, (not like the free stuff on my old P.C.).

Anyway I got a pop up that sneaked through, 'install a free sex passport', and was asked what I wanted to do about it.

DELETE, REMOVE, OBLITERATE, do whatever you have to I just don't want it was what I thought I had pressed.

All was well until I switched on the following day and a pop up appeared demanding £30 for the porn I had enjoyed!!!!

I did not click on anything on that screen, I pressed Ctrl, Alt, del and told my system to shut it down.

I then started to search, Norton found NOTHING.

I then searched the web and found this page, pc advisor
If you get a problem with demands from, MicroBillSystems the advice from fhiufhyrefyer does work, just read through it a few times before you attempt to use it.

I think I'll be getting rid of Norton very soon, I don't want any similar problems, (though I've heard Norton is a bit of a begger to remove itself these days!):D

Finally!!!!

I also had this pop-up but I found this Forum within 15 mins for help. I was going to follow fhiufhyrefyer's instructions but I downloaded a AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 Free Trial, did a full-computer scan and it's gone!! Thanks anyway.
The above quote is from someone else that had this problem but it seems that had my new P.C. been running avg as my old P.C. was doing, perhaps I wouldn't have had the problem in the first place?

Now where is that uninstall button for norton I think I have some urgent work to carry out.
:(

You'll be luck to uninstall Norton. Ginger had a problem with it the other day, he got slightly miffed off and tried deleting it. After a while full system crashed and had to be formatted ........ good luck

YOu can't just go deleting stuff as its integrated into windows system files so it can't find dependancies and Windows itself falls over. What sort of OS lets user programs get so tightly in the core OS files eh?

Less, do the uninstall from add/remove progs, install your shiny free stuff, then have a quick look for stuff Norton has left behind and firstly rename the folder, if it screws up you just need to boot with a Linux live cD and rename it back to get your system back. if its fine after a couple of weeks consider deleting at that point.

My partner's Mum is 70 yr old. She certainly doesn't visit sex sites (she doesn't even shop in ASDA) so she's a bit perturbed to be seeing a bill for 20quid that locks up her PC demanding money for a sexxxpassport from MicroBillSystems
I like this quote from the page you linked Less.Since when have you had to shop at Asda to visit sex sites? :D :D :D

Try http://www.prevx1.com for spyware etc removal. It has a 30 day free trial. It did the business for my Dad when he had problems.

If you read some of the posts in the link, you'll find some of them are from women. pc adviser

As for falling 'accidentally' into a porn site, I'm a guy that lives on his own, doesn't share his P.C. with anyone else so I suppose if I wanted porn sites on here I could have them without upsetting anyone else.

However I wouldn't pay £30 for real sex with a woman so I am not interested in having my P.C. clogged up with third rate virtual sex at such an extortionate price so I try to avoid such sites but sometimes a link isn't what you think a link is going to be and the swines then, if they manage to get onto a P.C. are trying to blackmail you to get rid of them.
Fortunately It won't work with me so I can talk about this embarrassing problem without it being a cause of concern to me or anyone around me.
