Burnley website
I have looked at websites for towns other than Accrington. None can hold a candle to Accyweb.
Today I learned that a website previously known as Burnleyweb has changed its name and is now Lancashire-online. Although Burnley-orientated at present, the webmaster hopes to attract material for the forum from across the county and beyond. He is clearly putting a lot of time into the site and deserves praise for this. I am full of admiration for our webmaster and his aides. They have achieved a top site and work hard at keeping it that way. |
Re: Burnley website
Burnleyweb has been rather run down for years.
And I don't think this is the first time for lancashire-online - ISTR that name from neil there several years ago. imo giving it a makeover will not get i any more posters. |
Re: Burnley website
I agree Bob, Burnley Web should be really good but it's very hit and miss

Re: Burnley website
Most big towns have similar active forums.
Although I wonder how many of the 18k members actually post? I bet most of them joined because of the footy club. |

Re: Burnley website
I like Margaret would like to be able to log on and get new posts without the ones in the Stanley section.
I'm sure that there are facilities to enable this as I have seen them on other forums - in fact I think it may have been Burnleyweb lol |
Re: Burnley website

Or should Roy pay you for coming on? :D |
Re: Burnley website
Margaret would presumably delete the Stanley & sports section and in it's place have the following:
a) Conspiracies for all b) Latest UFO landings in Accy c) Ghosts R Us d) Any other crackpot theory for the mentally deranged for care to mention. |

Re: Burnley website
Less, do all 18000 members pay to come on?
No. When someone sets up a community forum they do it because they want to. Thing is, not everybody is interested in football and they don't always want to if the ultras are allowed to wave flags or not. But just because someone has said they are not interested in reading the Stanley threads you always have to bring up the same old crud about paying to use the site. Cheers Neil, that link should be useful - it keeps the new posts to a single page & makes skimming through them easier. |

If you don't like it as it is don't complain, build a perfect one, oh, and you pay for it every month. |

Re: Burnley website
Less, why do you think that I a ungrateful?
I am not being ungrateful - I just do not have any interest in a game where they kick a ball around a pitch every time. Instead I am interested in the rest of what goes on in Accy because I work here & live close by. There will be many thousands of other members who are also not here just for the football, are you to be offensive to them too? |

Re: Burnley website
All hail Less, who tries so well to get people to pay to use a local forum setup because Roy wanted to.
(one worth £17k ) Are you by chance his book keeper? keep a record of everyone that has donated do you? Those that do not get given the treatment eh? grumpy old men... ;D |
Re: Burnley website
Its simple stop bitching about summat ya have no interest in, just dont read it. or is that too difficult?

I am the sites decoy, I keep miseries like you busy while everyone else enjoys the site. If I didn't shoulder this responsibility you and people like you would have taken over years ago and AccyWeb would unfortunately be like Burnleyweb has become, a shadow of it's former self because people with no sense of humour are allowed to rule the roost. Get with the program, AccyWeb isn't perfect, Roy & his team of mods welcome positive criticism but if the best you can do is complain because of the successful combination of a chat site and football site makes it hard for your little brain don't complain make a site that suits you. |

Whatever you do don't tell him about the executive washroom you look after for the AccyWeb elite, (he'll turn up and expect to get in). |

But because someone has commented that they do not want to read the stanley stuff y'all have to have a go and start being offensive about it. Now I'm to be blamed for the demise of Burnleyweb. a website that I have not been on for over 5 years. Somehow I think it's y'all that need to chill out & stop bitching yourselves. :p :p |

Lads, enough of this. If it isn't about the Burnley website - please don't post on this thread. In Accyweb we have a good thing going. let's not spoil it. Full stop.

Just like Roy, he has given himself and his resources selflessly to create what aught to be an asset for that Area. Everyone in Burnley should get behind him and return it to the site that it should be, I know Roy would hate to see it go, like accyweb, it is a pioneer of the Lancashire area and areas beyond. :) |

Re: Burnley website
Maybe if the Burnley website was written in Urdu then there would be a higher participation rate.
