Thanks for the above, Staggers......the key word is DUG. Rivers don't "dig" anywhere...they flow, they erode, but they certainly don't dig tunnels. Can we please have some terminological exactitude...the Stink and the Tinker, when flowing below the ground surface in Accy and Church, are flowing through ducts, and not along tunnels. Is this now clear to everyone?

No wonder |'m losing my hair.....

So how does a duct differ from a tunnel?

Do you remember the scrapyard which was on top of a culvert (now, is a culvert a tunnel or a duct?) at Church and collapsed into it?

Oh dear.....this is getting difficult.

Duct.."A tube, pipe or channel through which liquid is sent....

Tunnel..."An underground passageway, esp. one for trains or cars..

Culvert.."A drain or pipe that crosses under a road or railway....

Happy now? The Stink and Tinker flow along and through ducts and culverts, NOT tunnels. The scrapyard collapse was about 10 years ago, was'nt it...or has there been another one since?

I always thought that when it came to the Stink and the Tinker, the ducks WALKED on top.

Thank you for that enlightenment Tealeaf.

Yes, I suppose it will be about 10 years since that scrapyard fell into the water. There must be a moral in there somewhere.
