Good 'un Len. I do like the 1829 map. which I have not seen before; It precedes the reservoirs on the Church/Accy boundry and clearly shows the river which once formed that boundary. I wonder if anyone knows whether that was culverted or diverted to the Tinker? No matter, the only sign of it now is the clear river valley which is basically Tanpits road.

Great site Len.:)

Either the 1890 map is wrong or Pendy's house used to be on the same street as mine.

Love the maps. Does anybody know what denomination that chapel was that used to be in Queen St? There's a bit of it left there now where the funeral parlour is.

I've got older and more detailed maps of Accrington than that. 1790, 1846, 1850's an 1863, two of the maps are dfeatiled down as far as the toilets out back.

No Plantation Rd never went so far, it went to Plantation Mill then divided, one lane went right to High Riley, the other went left to Slate Pits Farm.
