Old address

Just thought it may be nice to know members old addresses and the years they lived there, and maiden names if it applies, perhaps we are talking to someone who lived in our street without knowing it. Obviously if you still live there DONT disclose your address

Whittaker 46 Avenue Parade from 1950-1967 approx

We were in newspapers most of our married life here in Kent, we were the wholesalers that delivered to newsagents, thats how I met my husband because dad left the barbers shop to move to Kent where my mum was evacuated and bought a newsagents so they could work together and I married the wholesaler.

Had a work with dad he says you probably delivered grandads (Arthur Livesey) paper (we all lived together in AP) because dad used to pick his up when he got to the barbers shop at the bottom of Burnley Road (Daily Despatch)

Well my father was born there and when he married my mother she came to live there with my grandma, but as you say Siddie people used to do that in those days, but not now, well not in my opinion that is, kids want to get away from their parents, but still keep in shouting distance just in case:rolleyes:

Re: Old address

I am trying to go back a little far on my Family. The Scholes's lived at 41 Mansion St. for years. Last Census I worked with show them still there but this is 1911. Would be great if some of them still lived in the Area.
Caleb and Eliz had 8 Children and both of them lived into their 80s. Worked in the Calico Printing.
Now is there a place in Accrington where one can find addresses and houses that would show who lived in them up to the current time.
I came over from the USA often and aim to spend more time in Accrington going through such a deaths, marriage, births etc. Find which cemetery family used.
