1890-Accrington Town Map
 
These are two excellent Maps that can be downloaded, use "Zoom" facility for close up of streets.
Open in full screen for best effect.

If you open the photos and right click, you can save to PC.

Ideal town plans for checking family addresses against early Census returns for those into Geneology.

Many of the streets are now long gone.

Hey, Atarah .. brother showed me this today, and have learnt how to do it ... dead chuffed. Not quite perfect yet .. but not bad for first try.

Actually, did work it out for myself ... was just initially pointed in the right direction .. :p

That Bishop gets about doesn't he ... :D

Just my usual bitchy self Retlaw .. admit though the Railway thing isn't helping. Still searching ... plans to look in another direction for it tomorrow .. watch this space. ;)

Heres part of a map I drew of Acc 1863, and the other is part of a plan I drew for Acc Library, some one had torn the plan of St James Church yard out of a book, with the aid of a photgraph I drew a new one.

Have to hand it to you Retlaw! You're a good un'. I well remember the patience you had when you went to the trouble of first of all tracing that lovely old map, then spending hour after hour after hour making it "come alive", then colouring it in.
