Anyone work at Raistricks with any tales to tell. Here are a few photos. This foundry was along Blackburn Road, nearer to Church, now demolished c2005

yep in fact was only telling one tonight to jaysay,:D too long to write out, but very funny. if i get time will pop in library in morning n tell ya.:D;) do ya know the year of photo number 5 atarah? sure one of the guys was yon in my time, but he was much older then.

Photo Number Five--The man on the far right is definately my late brother Bryan Procter.He was an Iron Moulder who served his time at Bulloughs. His wife still lives in Clayton

Further to my reply yesterday--I think photo number 5 dates to about 1955 or thereabouts

if its 55 ish, the fella third in from left kneeling, looks like "Watson" i was yon mid 60s i think it was, never did know his first name as everyone always called him "Watson" nowt else, lived spring hill way somewhere n was a pattern moulder.:)

Hi! I've been doing some family research and in my searching I came across this forum! I was so excited to see these pictures, it's something I've never seen before! My uncle is in the group picture. My uncle Jim (James), from the right he is the 2nd one standing. My grandad, George Raistrick owned that foundry after his dad. Thanks a lot for giving me a glimpse into something I've only heard about!

My mum used to clean for a Mrs raistrick , she lived on first avenue i think.She was definately had something to do with the foundry owners though.

Really?? My grandmothers name was Alice Raistrick, not sure if that's the Mrs. Raistrick you are referring too but she was married to my grandfather George Raistrick who owned the foundry. :-). Not sure of the street they lived on, but I will definitly check with my dad!

Lizzie Raistrick 33 - from Blackburn

Thank you for the memories I used to live across from pic one at 99 Lower Antley Street 1977 and the lads used to play football every working day outside I used to wait till they had gone back to work to nip to the shop lols , I also remember the day that chimney went up it would be 1977/78.
