Here's a question which encompasses sport and social history: Has Accrington area ever had any ex-footballers as a pub landlord? Who? which pub?

Don't know of any Bob, But back of me mind the "Castle" rings a vague bell?:confused: Seem to think Jimmy Harrower had it early/mid 60s?

Dave McDowell ex Stanley had the Crown fer a bit, the Bridge in Church.
Jimmy Harrower did take the Castle in 1962 |

Jimmy Harrower had the Castle from '62 right through to the early '70's. Was talking to his son, young Jim, the other month. I'm sure I recall on here someone saying that an ex-Rovers man had the Junction up St James St at some point?
