Duncan Halgh/ Dunkenhalgh

I am trying to locate a Duncan Hall in Blackburn, the home c1830 of Robert Addison, a land agent. So far, no joy. On some 1840-50 documents, Dunkenhalgh is spelled Duncanhalgh, so that could be his residence.

Who lived there in 1830.? The Petries I suspect. It may be that he worked for them and used their address as his.

Was Dunkenhalgh in Clayton township?

Check out Lancashire OPC. Church Kirk has Petres at Dunkenhalgh and Dunkin Hall between 1824 and 1826. Also others, including Mr Addison at Duncan Hall. There's a death notice in the Liverpool Mercury 26 September 1828 (britishnewspaper archive) of the "lady of Henry Petre Esq. of Duncan Hall near Blackburn".

Thaanks for this. I have ascertained that Addison was at Duncan Hall and that this was Dunkenhalgh. At that time, it was being extensively rebuilt and refurbished. His children were born and christened nearby.Ive had no success in finding him in the Preston or Blackburn papers.
