Mercer Park/ John Beardsworth

I have been asked to confirm that John Beardsworth was in business in Clayton with James Walmsley between 1911 and 1948. They may have made the iron gates for Mercer Park. Can anyone help ? They are not in the 1952 Barretts' directory.
