Thanks for trying, that is the right area but if you could go back in a time machine, move the camera to the right and take another one, that would be great :)
There must have been hundreds of photos taken there, over the years. Was this on the original carnival route and if so is there an archive of pictures from those events? Are there any photos of the crash that Retlaw mentioned? |

It is highly unlikely that there is copyright on these photos due to their age - not far off 100yrs

I agree that Wolstenholmes Craft shop and Wolstenholmes Funeral Service were on the corner of Tasker Street and Abbey Street up until the mid 1960's. And if memory serves me right (which it seldom does these days) Abbey Street was always Abbey Street until it reached Avenue Parade where it became Whalley Road from there onward.
Perhaps Wolstenholmes moved or relocated after the 1960's?? |
