Thanks to Margaret and Donald I have managed to find out more than I dared hope for about my Grandfather; after the kind help from you both I have traced him to having served as a "Motor Driver"in Ishmailier (Egypt) in the Royal Flying Corps in 1916, and then he was transferred to "Nineteen Squadron" of the newly founded "Royal Air Force" in 1918.

Again, many, many, thank you's. Sorry it has taken me a while to reply.
Your's in appreciation, Taddy

Marge, thanks to Donald H and yourself I have been able to find an R.A.F. badge for the 111 squadron that was formed in 1916 as the 111 squadron of the Royal Flying Corps which was the squadron that my Grandfather is listed as being a motor driver in.
I have this morning drafted a letter of thanks to the seller of the said badge who lives in Nurnberg, (I presume this is Nuremberg), Germany.

Again many thanks, or (vielen Dank), for the help that I have received from both of you.
Your's as ever, agrateful Taddy
