Puzzle 15
1 Attachment(s)
A sad and folorn part of our heritage, fallen on hard times (I know the feeling well).
a. What was it's specific function? b. Where is it located? Now that's not too hard is it? The first lucky member with both parts of the answer will be rejoicing to the tune of.... 10,000 Ackers |
Re: Puzzle 15
Is it a toll gate?
|
Re: Puzzle 15
Sadly no.
I think you will find that tolls were usually little more than a moveable pole or a chain stretched across a road, often with a tollkeepers house attached. |

Re: Puzzle 15
The old entrance to the long gone Brickworks at Huncoat. Taken near to the Railway Signalbox.

Re: Puzzle 15
Not Brickworks.

Re: Puzzle 15
Oh, this one hasn't been solved.
Thoth comes closest. It is on Station Road in Huncoat and was one of the entrances to the colliery sidings. Apparently a little train used to run across the top from the brickworks. |
Re: Puzzle 15
I knew that, I've never even been there lol. it's all to do with the architecture you see, and no I didn't cheat.
