Puzzle 16s

This is so easy even Acrylic-biff got it right first time.
Specifically, what is it called and where is it. The lucky sleuth with both parts of the answer will be walking away with praise for being nearly as much of a clever dick as me and also... 10,000 Ackers |

Re: Puzzle 16
Right again, It is Highbrake, and is situated on the other side of the railway from Marshall Avenue. It was built, if memory serves, for the owner of the colliery.
See, I told you they were easy! |
Re: Puzzle 16
Oh rats" Grr! and double Grrr! I was out most of yesterday afternoon and evening and I never saw this last night!
I'd have got it easily because a friend of mine lives in one half of it! The larger part at the side we are seeing it from is Highbrake House. The other side (the squarer looking part) is older and known as Highbrake Hall. The rooms are larger with very high ceilings. At one time it was all one house, the Highbrake House part actually being an extension to Highbrake Hall. The kitchen in her half is HUGE! With my pokey little kitchen here I'm afraid I'm often guilty of coveting. She has a great big table in there enough to seat at least a dozen people. There are superb cellars too. |
