Nice photos, but I haven't a clue what the answers are.

I'd say 2002. She's a Royal Train, Princess Coronation Class locomotive LMS No. 6233. Named Duchess of Sutherland and she was built in 1938.

You and Doug are of course correct about the Duchess.

It was taken on a wet Saturday in May last year from the top of the Arndale Car Stack which I think was built about 1989.
