True or false

New game - quite simple

Each person has to list five facts about themselves, only one of the facts needs to be true. The person who guesses correctly which fact is true then has to take the baton and list five facts about themselves and so on.

You can only have one guess for each person, so if you're wrong about me, you'll have to wait until someone gets it right and posts their five 'facts'. You have to wait until you're told that you're correct or not before posting your five 'facts', but of course, other people can continue guessing if they think you might be wrong.

So here are mine

1. I was the under 15 badminton champion of Hyndburn
2. I have a small birth mark on my lower back that looks like a teacup
3. I eat marmite out of the jar with my fingers
4. I took part in a TV scrabble competition
5. I once grew my finger nails to over an inch long

Probably, not too hard to guess but which one do you think is true???????

Doug 26-10-2005 15:03

Re: True or false

I can see you doing three, but I do happen to know which it is so I'll keep it shut and let someone have a go......:)

Hmmm, that's a toughie.....

I think I'll go with the TV Scrabble thingy..:D

Gayle 26-10-2005 15:21

Re: True or false

It was close but Lettie got it first, I said it was probably too easy.

I took part in the family TV scrabble a couple of years ago with my Mother in Law and out of 32 teams we came second. We made it to the final but we were well and truly trounced.

So, Lettie, it's up to you to give us five 'facts'

lettie 26-10-2005 15:34

Re: True or false

Ok, five facts about myself, one of which is true. Have a guess...:D

1) As a child I got a garden pea stuck up my nose and had to go to casualty.

2) My middle name is Geraldine.

3) I trained at the Italian ski school as a ski instructor.

4) I have climbed Mount Olympus.

5) I have six toes on my left foot.

Good luck.................;)

Doug 26-10-2005 15:40

Re: True or false

I'm torn between No 2 and No 4. so I'll go for the fact that have climbed Mount Olympus....

Well done Doug... Yes, I have climbed Mount Olympus.... Twice!!!!

It was a long slog, I was on holiday at my cousin's house in Cyprus. He is a PT Instructor for the RAF. It took us a few hours to get up there and we went via the bush. When I got to the top (knackered), I discovered that the road ends 100m from the top and you can actually drive up there. Needless to say, after dropping my cousin off at the nearest hospital so that the surgeons could remove my walking boot from his rectum, I agreed to go up there with him a second time (he was mapping routes to take the troops up for their PT).

The Italian ski school did offer me a place to train as an instructor (I was 15) I never took up the offer.

It's your turn Doug..

Doug 26-10-2005 16:00

Re: True or false

Five facts about myself, one of which is true. Have a guess...

1. I flew RAF ground attack fighters in the early eighties.
2. I’m worth 1.8 million
3. I am blind in my right eye
4. I speak to dead people
5. I was once shot in the face.

All the best....

Going for number 5 shot in the face.

Doug 26-10-2005 16:11

Re: True or false

Back in the late seventies I was involved in a small exchange with four other people. I was shot at close range and a slug entered my left cheek grazed my jaw bone and lodged under my jaw. I didn’t feel it but I heard it coming and I heard it hit. It’s still in there to this day. Well done.

your turn:)

2 Broke his head not his jaw
3 Nearly drowned in the lodge that was behind the ressies at the top of Bolton Avenue before they built the houses
4 love chilli con carne
5 Only managed to do the second half of the Ultimate Chalange walk

JohnW 27-10-2005 10:53

Re: True or false

OK here we go:

1) I once told Brian Epstein (Beatles manager) to "p*** off" when he offered the band, in which I played drums, work in Liverpool at, what I considered to be, poor money.
2) I have visited every continent in the world.
3) I am married to my fourth wife.
4) Here in America, I live on a stretch of river which is three miles wide and have a lovely boat at the bottom of my garden.
5) I am the CFO of a large, well-known International company.

I'll go for the first one - you told Brian Epstein where to go!

JohnW 27-10-2005 15:49

Re: True or false

[quote=Gayle]I'll go for the first one - you told Brian Epstein where to

Yes Gayle, correct. What a total tosspot eh?

For the others:

I've been to Europe, Asia and North America
I am married to my third wife
I would love to live on the St. Johns river and have a lovely boat, but it's a bit too expensive
If I was the CFO of an international well-known company, I probably would live on the river and have the boat. I am an accountant, but never have been, and never will be, the CFO of such a company.

Gayle 27-10-2005 16:53

Re: True or false

Here's another five about me

1. The little finger on my left hand is shorter than the one on my right by a full cm
2. I have a pierced belly button
3. My middle names are Bernadette Mary
4. I've owned over 52 cars since learning to drive (not at the same time)
5. I've been chatted up by Gary Barlow

Uncle Mick 27-10-2005 20:12

Re: True or false

Oh, I think I know the answer to this one, but as I can`t think of one interesting fact about myself I`d better keep mum!!

Doug 27-10-2005 23:23

Re: True or false

This is a set up I think. I feel the answer is a personal one so people who are polite won’t go for it. However this being me I have little difficulty in saying you have a pierced belly button…No 2 then….

Gayle 28-10-2005 07:20

Re: True or false

No, Doug - sorry, it's not that. Apparently it hurts - I do have a lot of earrings in my ears though and that hurt enough thank you very much.

Uncle Mick probably does know the answer but he also knows that I'd probably know the answer to his - that's why he's too much of a coward to have a go.

slinky 28-10-2005 11:00

Re: True or false

3. My middle names are Bernadette Mary

Iwill go for this one then:D

Gayle 28-10-2005 12:45

Re: True or false

Yes, it was the boring option. So, over to you Slinky - five facts please!

Gayle 28-10-2005 12:47

Re: True or false

To clarify

Both my little fingers are of standard and equal size
My belly button is free from piercing
I've owned quite a few cars (mostly bangers) but not that many and
as for being chatted up by Gary Barlow - I wish! lol

So yes, my middle names are Bernadette Mary - good Catholic names, to be sure!

Uncle Mick 28-10-2005 20:18

Re: True or false

Yup, I was right...GBH with added Mary. I`m up to two interesting facts now so I might have a go!

Gayle 28-10-2005 20:20

Re: True or false

I am married with 3 children
I am happily divorced, with 2 children
I have long Blondie hair
I got married when I was 16 years old
I work for Ann summers

I may not reply the correct answer straight away as, I am now on my way out to the Rhyddings park halloween party.

Gayle 31-10-2005 21:57

Re: True or false

Ah, I was going to say that if you'd met Winston Churchill you'd have to be about 70 or 80 ish but I think that's a trick one because he had a nephew who was also called Winston Churchill - so I'm going to go for No. 5.

8) Freddie and the Dreamers

1. I own a 2002 Aston Martin DB9?

2. I once threw a young chap down two flights of Stairs at RAF Wyton locked in a MK.1 Wardrobe.

3. I crash a Motor Bike at High Speed in the wet and travelled along the road on my side for a third of a mile still in the sitting position…..?

4. I saluted a High ranking RAF Officer Starke Bo**ock naked, wearing now’t but a worried look on my face?

5. I fell off Striding Edge at the age of fourteen and only saved by a mate who grabbing me and pulling me back up…
