Goodness gracious me - after all the times i stumbled on the "UK" in the past -despite personal lessons in Trivia from Garinda -at last I have a little "revenge" in the shape of "Europe" with a distinct Italian bias!!! Lol!!

Dontcha just love the funtrivia site? Just tried one of their free quizzes entitled "tricky world mix". OK, one of the questions was about UK, and the rest, yes you've guessed it, nine questions about the good ol' US of A. I give up, I really do. No wonder one year of living there was enough for me!

BTW, many thanks Stanleymad for arranging the new categories. It's good to keep us guessing about what's coming next!

Odd you should mention Israel and Europe together...the European Athletics Championship is on at the moment and Israel is taking part - there must be some reason why! Anyone any ideas?

Reading round the www it gets complicated. The UN puts Israel in Western Asia, but for most sports purposes it seems to join with Europe, as I said before for religious/ political reasons.

At the Olympics both Palestine and Israel are competing, Israel is placed in Europe and Palestine in Asia for their purposes.

I suspect a lot of this has to do with the large number of people of European origin in Israel. Whatever, the world would be a better place if the whole mess generated by the formation of the state of Israel could be cleared up. But that will never happen while it has the mighty USA behind it.

Don't think so, I keep refreshing to see if anyone else has played but it's still there and I can play the open quizzes.

Having said that, only eight people have played, and no one for several hours. Hope they haven't all given up because it's the last day of the month. It's been a hard fight but even though I have the most points it would have been nice to have a bit more opposition today. And Eggandchips has the highest average even though playing fewer games - well done.

And Steve I think you will be third - good finish for you.

Agree NS but randomness doesn't seem to be an option. It wouldn't be so bad if Monday really was history rather than humanities etc etc. I'm afaraid the Yanks do rather like to categorise everything down to the last iota, just look at some of the question categories that come up during the GK rounds.

Perhaps a PM to Stanleymad might help?

Yeah I noticed that Steve - but it's only in the yesterday's score sheet - in the cumulative standings I still have full number of plays. Think my erasure is because I scored zero points yesterday cause of the leccy failure which put my time up to ten minutes (!) and I ended up in the drop zone after Alan turned up late and knocked me down from number 10.

Still a long way behind Egg now and you and Dave are fighting it out down there - may the best man win!! :boxing_sm :whack: :hesoff:
