I see there is a special event tonight advertised on their boards to celebrate 450 years of this property, gosh, that's quite old, isn' it ?

Hope they have a successful night.

I have not been in there for a good 12 months and no matter how hard any landady/landlord worked, never really seemed to make it a huge success, which is a shame, because is in a good catchment area and a lovely building , and somewhere I could walk to without the bother of a taxi (well, that is if lady's feel able to walk in a pub alone around here).

I tried to work out why and came to the conclusion that it was purely the ambience of the place .. more the lay-out and that the wall dividing the two rooms should be knocked down to give it a more spacy, airy and welcoming atmosphere. I suspect, however, that it is under some sort of listed thingy and not allowed .. probably holding the place up !

Wondered if any Claytoners had been in recently to give me an update as to how it is doing ?

Guess not many people going in then due to lack of response, or very few Claytoners on Accyweb :rolleyes:

Know it was a farm at one time, but can't find what it was originally built for and if that middle wall cannot be knocked down. Anybody know ?
