Re: ex homebargin store....

Theres only one good thing pound shops are good for and thats shampoo!
cuz it usually cost nearly £2 in asda a bottle for the one i get, but in there they are a pound, but sometimes if i go to wilkies you can get it ..BOGOF so that works out cheaper still...so it pays to shop around:D

Other than that, accy is.......poo!
poo shops and poo toilets and poo seating:(

We get coffee from there at the moment. They have Nescafe Brazilia at £1 for a 100g jar. It's not that different from normal Nescafe if you're not an expert and a 300g jar of Nescafe at Asda is a fiver, effectively we get nearly double for the same price :)

don't do much shopping in Accy now... because of lack of shops: I have even given up on the Market Web Site... there is far too much apathy: its such a shame Accy used to be a town that was just that little bit different now its total rubbish:
But I guess others will also say the same about the their own towns the grass is greener and all that....

From what I read in the paper last week they aren't going to let new tenants in until the work has been done so they can move exisiting tenants about. Looks like it's going to be half empty for a while.

Blackburn = a city then and a better standard of living overall. :D

blackburn dosnt deserve to be a city and i certainly dont want my town merging with blackburn just to accomodate them

this argument has been going on for years and can easily be solved by demoloshing the cathederal

blackburns more of a dump than accy

Re: ex homebargin store....

I said in another thread that, part of the reason this country is in a mess is down to pure greed, yet people dont shop around for cheaper groceries, that is down to lack of time and laziness, if everybody shopped in town for a couple of weeks, asda would'nt drop the prices because of the lack of business, they would close it down because of the lack of profit, businesses like asda dont just have to be profitable, they have targets and have to make a certain amount of profit, same with most of the big shops, that is why there are very few big name stores here, places like Bury are losing them too because of supermarkets and shopper apathy.

It used to be that you could only be a City if you had a cathedral, that has changed since the Queen could declare a Town with City status and Blackburn although having a Catherdral is still not a city
