Ok, thanks.

Don't use that one much, as it's dearer.

Still very sad news for the people that work there, and for Accrington.:(

The one opposites open, Mrs went in today buying Xmas cards at half price, queued up for 10 mins to save about £3

Seem to recall Lindsay mentioning something the other week about Clintons buying them out ?

She also mentioned the Card warehouse closing down, and it's not got the notices in the window.

Also noticed the shop on Warner St next to the pub, sells all sorts of odd stuff has closing down notices in the window.

Re: another shop bites the dust

Is card warehouse the one on broadway? which ever that one is they have big closing down signs in the window now, never take any notice of them personally, see too many saying that and they never shut

Looks like it may be, there used to be one shop that always had the closing down signs in the window, or seemed to have, can't think which it was, must have closed eventually eh!

As I totally screwed this one up I'll correct it now :D

Card shop on Broadway is in administration, looks likely to close, Birthdays has closed and Clintons are relocating to that unit.

Even the poundshop was slashing to half prices to be on region of the 50p shop:rolleyes:

Its a buyers market & working in the retail industry is becoming a hard job these days.

Looks like they've turned full circle poundshops all started of as 50p shops in the early 80s, the first exponent of that was Ray Lyndon on his Market stalls, he had about 6 market sites all flogging 50p gear, not to mention Sunday Markets too

RUMOUR has it that Marks and Spencer can no longer afford to pay the lease and therefore shutting down. Anyone know if there is any truth in it?

dont think the spielers would like to work what
we laughingly call the market nowadays:mad:
the old market of the sixties and seventies was full of characters
and an abundance of various stalls
