Sky Football

Being a footy fan, (arm chair these days) I have Sky Sports and I also get the Prem Plus season ticket for £50 or £1 a game. If you want to select only certain matches its £8 a time. This morning I nearly fell of my chair when I heard that any public house wanting to purchas a single match, say like todays Rovers v Man Unt it cost £280 a time, its no wonder they can pay millions to The Prem League

I would guess that it's the armchair fans who contribute a lot more to Sky's extortion than the pubs. A lot of pubs get foriegn channels.

Instead of allowing Sky to dictate football and make it a rich mans sport with overpaid prima donna's get yourself out to a proper football match :)

yeah but they are spot checking alot of pubs now and if they are showing a match on a foreign channel they can get a hefty fine off the licensing people!!!!

A landlord in Blackburn was fined recently for just that.

Was he fined by the licensing people, or was it trade descriptions because he advertised football ? :D

Sorry Lancsdave, I used to travel the country watch the Rovers but unfortunatly I am in poor health and have to get my fix from the TV. Nothing would give me more pleasure that going out to a match every weekend but as you get older and your health starts to let you down you have to make the best of what you can get.

I will be watching the Rovers V Utd game its one of the only games I wil pay the extra £8 for.Dont think you should have to pay any extra when you already subscribe to Sky Sports:mad:

I got told the price to have sky and sky sports in a pub £1000 a month! Thats a lot of pints!

Re: Sky Football

yep and they show a 'special' pint symbol in teh bottom right corner on pub subscriptions so they can easily see if a landlord is just piping their personal sky system downstairs
