Grand National 2007
Who's gonna win it?
Just logged into my Coral account (that I got a free £10 bet with last year) and found I have £2.25 in winnings from last year :D Anyone having a bet there are lots of places (hills, coral, betfair, skybet are examples) that will give you a free bet - usually match your bet up to about £25, ie you put a £10 bet on and they give you another £10 Heres the list HEDGEHUNTER FOTA ISLAND EUROTREK L'AMI MONKERHOSTIN ARMATURK THISTHATANDTOTHER BILLYVODDAN NUMBERSIXVALVERDE IDLE TALK ROYAL AUCLAIR CLOUDY BAYS KNOWHERE KELAMI POINT BARROW CELTIC SON SIMON BALLYCASSIDY CLAN ROYAL GALLANT APPROACH LIVINGSTONEBRAMBLE DUN DOIRE KANDJAR D'ALLIER SLIM PICKINGS ZABENZ BEWLEYS BERRY LONGSHANKS BOTHAR NA GRAPHIC APPROACH HOMER WELLS LIBERTHINE SILVER BIRCH PHILSON RUN PUNTAL THE OUTLIER TIKRAM MCKELVEY NAUNTON BROOK IRIS ROYAL JACK HIGH SONEVAFUSHI JOES EDGE LE DUC RISK ACCESSOR DUNBRODY MILLAR UNDENIABLE HAKIM JOUEUR D'ESTRUVAL LOU DU MOULIN MAS SYBELLIUS D'ARTAIX IVOIRE DE BEAULIEU MARBLE GARDEN COWBOYBOOTS IRON MAN PARSONS LEGACY THE BANDIT FAIR PROSPECT JUST IN DEBT IRIS BLEU MODEL SON KORELO MARK THE MAN EXIT SWINGER RIDE THE STORM ESPOIR DU BOCAGE SHANNON'S PRIDE THEATRE KNIGHT HEROS COLLONGES |

Re: Grand National 2007
I've just put £2.00 ew on Theatre Knight - well I had to, didn't I?:D
|
Re: Grand National 2007
Yup I'll be having a bet. Only thing is I usually choose an horse because of it's name ..... none stand out there .... Hmmmm I'll have to have a think on that!
|
Re: Grand National 2007
68 horses in ONE race ...  thats a sodding cavalry charge , is the field usually so big or do a lot drop out before the race ?
|
Re: Grand National 2007
It's possibly the most brutal horse race in England. Quite often only 10 to 15 finish and frequently there are serious injuries to either horse or riders. Yet, it is the most watched and betted on horse race in the country.

Pretty sure 40 is the maximum. A few drop out before the day then they have a ballot ... I think |

|
Re: Grand National 2007
yep will be having a go myself as always ...but like tinks i usually go for the names , and nothing seemed to jump out of that line up....
|
Re: Grand National 2007
They limit it to 40 horses for the race itself. They have been watering the course because its too dry and so too hard/fast for the horses. The first time i backed a horse in the national was red rum because i liked the colour red and i won - every time he ran i backed him and won!!! Every year my mum said hes not going to win and wouldnt back him - the one year she said that she would back him he didnt run he pulled out the day before!!!
This year im going for Idle Talk - his assistant trainer has been there many years and won it four times so he knows what hes doing. |
