Hedman I hope you get your video footage - I think when I was on the BBC website yesterday they said they hope to make all the live video footage available eventually. You might get it on Youtube as well.

Just watched the torch's journey through Accy, Church and Ossy. Anne did a great job - especially when somebody introduced a football at her feet!

It was good to see so many people out in support and you had better weather in Accy than we had in Morecambe yesterday (see the thread My day in pictures for yesterday!). Also good to see an Accy person running in Accrington. Most of the torchbearers seem to have little or no connection with where they are carrying the torch, I have no idea why this is.

Will be interesting to see if any of the Accyweb photographers were there to capture it - would be nice to see some shots on Today in pictures... :)

Sure there was, Mobertol. Shillelagh has already got one up on Facebook and spotted Kipax busy snapping away.

Sorry couldn't get there myself, but this coverage was the next best thing... brilliant.

Your wife, Headman, certainly got into the swing of things .... obviously a lady with a great personality. Well done.

The whole shebang went past our office this morning ( a designated viewing point on Barbara Castle Way), lots of hype, liked the Samsung bus, rest of it was a let down really, though I don't know what I expected, maybe some celebs?

Re: olympic torch urgent assistance

Thanks for your kind comments

We've had a fantastic day and Annes had her 15 minutes of fame - the people watching have been fantastic even when it took 30 minutes to get back to the car from the Town Hall with people wanting to touch or have a photo with the torch

Back to the issue of recording the events of this morning - we,ve just viewed the footage from this morning on the internet - how can I now save the internet footage onto my laptop

i could film the footage via my cam corder but is there another way I can do it

People are complaining about the cost already, don't ask for celebs as well!

Actually I think if celebs were involved it would become too glitzy and detract from what is supposed to be about the torchbearers and their contributions to community and local life and sport.

Yeah, TV Red button was covering the Grand Prix so missed Ossy/Accys moment of fame. I have attached some pics which I took along Blackburn Road.

I have recorded onto a DVD the whole of the event from the BBC streaming video off the internet. It is rather poor quality but better than nothing.Going to have another go tonight from the replay to see if it can be improved.

Yeah, whole of today is on the BBC website.
BBC - Olympic Torch Relay - Lytham St Anne's to Manchester

Cleverly they have set the time of the footage to 'real' time so if you drag the bar to 10:18 it takes you straight to the Ossy Accy leg.

Re: olympic torch urgent assistance

Gremlin

thanks for that

I can now view the relay on you tube however when I put it on full screen it's very poor quality

how can I get the same quality as the internet pictures

Thanks Margaret,
It was only when I cropped it down to size that I realized the flame was visible.

Yes...i can see that now I've wiped the sauce off my glasses :).
I didn't get to see the flame......going through Accrington...we were on the bus to Bury by the time it arrived in town....I did get some pictures of the preparations....but for some reason they would not up load.Just keep getting 'file Error' message.
They are here, for anyone who wants to have a look.
