Small Print on adverts
I was just watching a Subway advert for low fat Subs. The small print at the bottom of the screen said: Only low fat when a 6" Sub with no sauces and on brown bread. I know they have to put this sort of small print on the adverts but I still think they are quite misleading. Practically every advert on TV atm has some sort of small print.
My favourite is one for a Mascara (cant remember which one) but the small print says: Lashes Enhanced in Post Production (!) It just goes to show that the whole advert is a complete lie, as the mascara doesnt do what it shows. |

and the hair colour advert that says she has extensions in.... after saying how lushious and soft it makes the hair...

Like the ones that say can help slimming and weight control only as part of a calorie controlled diet etc
We want miracle cures, not small print telling us to diet!! |

The ingredient listing says no trans fat, but this website shows it has partially hydrogenated soya bean oil BENECOL® Spreads which IS a trans fat Partially Hydrogenated Oils extract- Worse, most partially hydrogenated oil is partially hydrogenated soybean oil. That's a problem, because soybean oil depresses the thyroid--which lowers your energy levels, makes you feel less like exercising, and generally makes you fatter! Of course, soybeans have been used for centuries in the Orient--but mostly as the basis for soy sauce and tofu. Asians didn't have soy milk, soy burgers, soy this and soy that. Most of all, they never used concentrated essence of soybean, in the form of soybean oil. And they didn't hydrogenate it, and they didn't use it in everything. Walking down supermarket aisles in America, you find product after product with partially hydrogenated oil--often in products you would never expect. But why not? After all, it's cheaper than butter. And it's not illegal. Yet. When you eat out, restaurant breads and fried foods are loaded with stuff. As a result, Americans are consuming soybean oil--partially hydrogenated soybean oil--in virtually everything they eat. It's no wonder that America is experiencing epidemic levels of diabetes, obesitiy, heart disease, and cancer. |

Like the lipstick adverts that say 'all day, long lasting colour' and then have the small print which says 'topcoat may need to be reapplied throughout the day'.

that third one is some outstanding photoshopping... I've never taken it that far! I'd feel really bad if the model saw that...

Then I start to search my 'massive' word pool again to find a way to explain.................. |
