Just got a call from my other half, she's been on the set of Corry today and she's actually said her first line after 3 years, it seems she gets served with Janice in some hospital tuck shop where she's doing community service, it appears she says, "can I have a bun please", and Janice ignores her, much to the annoyance of Emily

Well she's a nice lass, but she don't do out for nowt flashy, infact its quite well paid, but she may go a few weeks before something else crops up. although she's been quite busy lately with Corry and Waterloo Road

Has she got an Equity card? I've always understood you had to be an Equity member to get a speaking part. Is that right?

No West Ender, an extra can speak up to I think 12 words before an Equity Card is needed. The Agency Joan works for also have bit part actors who are registered as extras as well, and do have Equity Cards and do any of the big extra parts. Basically there are three types of extra Walk on 1 which is background only i.e. just waling down a street, Walk on 2, which is where they are in full camera shot, i.e. Joan was a member of the Jury in Emmerdale for the week of Lorain Chase's Trial, and walk on 3 which is full camera shot with very small dialogue

Sorry Dave can't help really, Joan never knows when her parts will be screened, although filming for the series finished last Wednesday, think it maybe starting very shortly or even early in the new year, If I find out I'll let you know
