David Tennants replacement is going to be announced on a special programme tomorrow afternoon. Im so excited I thought we would have to wait months.

Reece was just asking me when the new one will be making new episodes, he was gutted when i said there will be no doctor who episodes on this year, only specials

I'm glad it's not going to be David Morrissey, he just isn't odd enough.
I'd like it to be John Simm but I don't know how they would do it as he played the Master last year.

Eeeerrrrrrrrrrrr he`s rubbish, well not rubbish but not nearly interesting or quirky enough to play The Doctor......my bet is it will be someone relatively unknown......

You could very well be right with that one.......the Americans get a black president so i don`t see why we should`nt have a black Doctor........the times are a changin`.......he gets my vote

Patterson Joseph already played the part of Rodrick in two episodes in 2005. Same problem as John Simm.

What about Rhys Ifans? He'd be brilliant.

But it was only a small part in the first series, I dont think it will matter with him, Freema Agyeman was in an earlier episode before she was Martha, although they did get round that by saying it was Martha's cousin. I think with someone like John Simm or David Morrisey its more difficult because they had very big parts, and were such individual characters.

Whoever it is i think they will be relatively unknown.

Patterson Joseph is named as the new doctor in most of the papers today................................. all will be revealed in a couple of hours

I've never heard of him but he seems to have impressed with the varied programmes he's done which would suit the versatility needed to be the Doctor

Have only seen him in Party Animals, but he was great in that. I think he'll make a great Doctor although coming after David Tennant has got to be the hardest job in showbiz! Here's the first promo shot from the BBC:

Don't think they'ld risk giving such a big part to some one just coz they know another actor, or any part for that matter. It's their heads on the line spending the licence money. :rolleyes:

My favourite was Chris Eccleston & I was disappointed at first when Tennant took over, but he grew on me and hopefully Smith can do the same. He's got big boots to fill!
