X Factor 2010 Live Finals

There was a previous thread on the X Factor back in August, but it seems right to start a new thread to discuss the remaining acts in the final.

Best performances last night were from Aiden, Mary and Treyc.

As for the acts that will get to the final, there is only one act guaranteed on the basis of the voting patterns of the great British public, and that is One Direction. They have the Eoghain Quigg/George Sampson cuteness factor that grandmas, mums and adolescent teenagers love. They will be in the final.

As for the other two places, it will depend how Aiden, Matt, Rebecca, Cher and Treyc do in the coming weeks. Aiden looks a bit too much like last years winner, but he is probably the best of the bunch.

My predictions for the final 3 are Aiden, Rebecca and One Direction.

Love Rebecca.

Would have been happy to see any of Louis's acts go, except for Mary.

Looks like the British public say a big no-no, to anything Ga-ga-esque, with Katie and Nicolo in the bottom few.

Thought last night's show was great.

Re: X Factor 2010 Live Finals

I think Simon Cowell dropped a hint why they didn't keep Gamu, he said something like "I'm sick of seeing sweet 18 year olds singing soppy songs!" Not exactly what he said but I know what he meant and was hinting at. They want people like Katie prepared to dress weird, even though she forgot her words at two auditions and Cher because she has something rock n' roll about her - that's why they put Gamu out. Because they don't want some kid singing "sweet songs!" Bla bla instead they got a 28 year old male singing hi-pitched! = Matt! singing Sweet songs!

I reckon Cher has the X-factor ( X-factor Jay Say is supposed to be talent and ability to perform and be famous bla! bla! ;) ) over all the others, not that I fancy her - I just think she comes across like she's got the potential to be a great performer.

As far as the X-factor goes this year may be the last one? Or at least it may be the last one that ends at Christmas, it may be moved earlier in the year - as apparently next year Simon Cowell is to launch American X-factor in the winter period!

Cher aint' as good as I first thought - best vocal performance was Mary out of the lot, worst I think was Wagner and Aiden. Katie's growing on me. Hard to tell who'll win.

Yeah I agree with your comment on Cher, she needs to pull out a good song to get people back on her side. Mary has always been my fave but needs to do a modern song this week and also John Adeleye has also impressed me so either of them to win! :D

Glad to see Diva Fever go as they were starting to irritate me in a Jedward sort of way.

Aiden was disappointing, but hopefully it was just a glitch and he will get better. Mary is great but doesnt have the sort of image needed to win this competition.

I think One Direction are going to win. They aren't the best act, but everyone seems to love them.

Mary singing James Brown's This is a Man's World was inspired.

Singing Dusty, she was just a good karaoke act.

Being given the right song is so important. As Aiden's terrible Jealous Guy proved.

I only normally watch the early stages of X-factor for the ****-take factor! For example I don't know how far Diana Vickers got last year before she was voted off?

Anyway Storm should have done a Michael Jackson song like "Man in the Mirror" instead of the rock anthems Louie was putting on him.

Trayc has a belting voice as well but I'd think people are sick of black diva's winning it. Don't know about John perhaps?

She sang Dusty well - she has a good voice. I'm suprised that Wagner wasn't voted out as he can't sing - compare his voice to Tom Jones. I thought he'd be out - I doubt if he'll win it!

Rebecca's a fantastic find.

World class jazz/blues singer.

I'd defo pay to see here.

Stylish too, from head to toe, even at the auditions, and so sweet, and an unassuming when she isn't performing.

It's the novelty factor of Wagner - have you noticed that the dancers always touch themselves up during his dance routines - this week it looked like they were flashing at him with their backs to the camera's. Last week the women were squeezing rubbing their tits - what's that all about?

I'm not ashamed, I had tears rolling down my face, watching her this week, and I don't rate it as my favourite performance of her's.

YouTube - Rebecca Ferguson - The X Factor - week 5

She's so sweet, shy, and self-effacing, then she sings, and becomes this amazing perforrmer, comparable with the all time greats, in my opinion.

I don't really get Rebecca. :cool:I thought the best performance was Matt Cardle - the way he sings those high notes - to me he stands out off that performance as the most likely to get a big hit. ;)

The jazz market's thriving still, and massive, world wide.

With the right management she could have a long, and acclaimed career.

Cowell might not be that manager, but he does have a lot of influence, here and in the States.

She's not everyone's cup of tea, but I adore her singing talents.

I thought at last Katie is going to get the boot - she forgot words and sounded like she was falling apart - yet she still got through, very unfair. Was that a fix? Cheryl claims she didn't want to vote one of her girls out, but she did by being not voting - it would have been fairer to vote for the other one, then it would have gone to the viewers vote, instead of that sham.

There is a campaign on Facebook to keep Wagner in and make it so he wins to undermine Cowell and the X-factor...

X-Factor: Facebook campaign backs Wagner - Telegraph

But Cowell obviously wants Katie Waissel to win as he and his music business executives have paid money to get her out of a contract or something!

It happened last year, when there was a successful campaign to stop the winner, li'l Joe What'sit, from being the Christmas number one.

The show is a fix! Katie Wassiel should not be in the show - obviously the more breaks someone gets the better they will become and she has been given those chances by Simon "Fiddle it" Cowell!

I am starting to like Wagner now for the comic factor and I hope he wins! I'm going to join the face book campaign and I may vote for him next week!

The best vocal performance last week I think was Mary - she's back on form!

Katie and Wagner voted off tonight, leaving Mary, Matt, Rebecca, Cher and One Direction.

That seems a pretty fair outcome don't you think?:jimbo:

Glad that Katie has gone, so fed up with her drama & crap singing! Its looking like Matt to win, with Rebecca & One Direction filling the 2 runners up spots!!

Why do these singers such as Justin Beiber fly all that way over just to mime for 5 minutes?

Agree she got her cumupance. Matt is good at slow songs singin high - not so good on faster songs. Anyone could win but perhaps Cher will be the wild card:confused:

Justin Beiber flys in because there are 10 million viewers.

I just cant see enough people voting for Cher, & Mary is basically a Pub Singer but nice with it!! Lol! Rebecca has a good voice, but is a dull as dishwater on stage, Matt will prob get a lot of ladies voting for him, which will probably sway it for him i think, although one direction could nick it from him if a lot of teenage girls stay in & vote!

I know a lot of technology is used musically these days, what with autotune & lipsyncing etc, but you'd think acts would have pride in their own performance & abilities when appearing on such a big show....Beiber didn't sing a single note live!

Best Regards - Taggy

Hi Taggy, any one of them could win - I suppose it's down to what they pull out of the bag in the next show. You can't say Cher won't win as she may get all the young kids voting in as they did for George Samson on Britain's Got Talent a few years ago.

I notice Wagner was not on any TV shows on Monday, but Katie Waissel was - it turns out Simon Cowell and show boses apparently banned him from doing so...

Yep he's too much of a loose cannon for them isn't he!!...OK he's a crap singer, but i think there were "things" put in place in the media over the last 2 weeks to make sure he got booted out. But as Ms Widdecombe says about Strictly..."its Saturday night entertainment"!
Guess things could turn round for Cher, but i doubt it, if those kids were voting in large numbers she'd never have been in the botton two...but stranger things happen!
Lets face it, its not a serious music show, but it is fun, and sure packs in the viewers!

Best Regards - Taggy

Well the first part of the show was a refreshing change that they all did some up-tempo songs which I thought worked well, but the 2nd part I could easily turned over. All the 2nd songs were pants.......

Hard to decided though on who is going to go tonight, I hope Rebecca (sorry Garinda!!!) or Cher goes to be honest

This was my prediction on 10th October, at the start of the live finals. I was proved right about One Direction and Rebecca. Aiden fell by the wayside because he didnt come across with much of a personality, and Matt grew into the part.

My prediction for the winner? I think we are in for a first. A group winning X Factor.

Yeh that was a bit of an upset. I thought Matt had the weakest voice out of the 3. I think perhaps, just maybe people voted against One Direction as a statement against Simon. I don't really care though.

The song was more suited to his type of voice than Rebecca's also I couldn't see how One Direction would have sung it?

Re: X Factor 2010 Live Finals

in teh ITV2 follow on Matt was in teh top 2 vote counts for 9 out of 10 weeks so he was clearly doing something right.

Personally I preferred him to the other options, One D only became ciable winners in teh last 3 weeks, before that they didn;t quite gel to me. Rebecca has a nice voice but never so much as moved a muscle, even Mary danced more than her.

I've heard that all top 5 are getting contracts so TBH it doesn't really matter who "won". look at previous years, JLS, Diana Vickers all did well despite not winning.

Undermine the X-factor/Simon Cowell, by buying the original version of the song they (Matt Cardle) have covered this Christmas - check out the Facebook site...

Re: X Factor 2010 Live Finals

More proof indicates X-factor a fiddle! As winner Matt Cardle has an autobiography out. Now if X factor hadn't chosen him to win before the votes, what publisher would stump up the money to print books and get them in the shops in time for Christmas? A publisher would only publish books if it was guranteed he was the winner!

Matt Cardle autobiography expected to top Xmas bestsellers list - Lovereading

Because if he didn't win it, then they would lose loads of money publishing a book that wouldn't sell! So again it seems that it was fixed for Matt Cardle to win.

Also the song selected for the winners single - was perfect for him to sing, but was not sound so good by Rebecca or the boy band!

Do I really care! Not really just commenting on the con this show is!

Rebecca & One Direction were never going to be singing `When We Collide` had they won.....they each sang their potential `winners song` during the final....
