End of The Weakest Link

BBC News - Anne Robinson quits Weakest Link

The BBC quiz show The Weakest Link is to finish next spring when Ann Robinson leaves the show, they say that to recommission it with anybody else asking the questions wouldn't be the same, I agree with that, wouldn't be the same without frosty nickers would it:D

The idea was a good one, but I think it has gone a bit stale.
I think the Beeb are right to pull the show........it certainly would not be the same with some other presenter........Countdown went downhill when Richard Whiteley died and then Carol Vorderman left.

I watch it most nights not so much as a quiz program but more of a comedy, there are some real dipsticks turn up on that show, I know its a bit different when your in front of the cameras and lights but some are just numpties

John...even 'easy' questions are hard, if you just don't know the answer.

Ya Barrie but they were serious quiz programs, TWK isn't its an entertainment program, of which Ann Robinson is the integral part. I mean in a quiz its normal for the best person to win the one who answers the most questions, in TWK that's not always the case, better players are often voted off tactically, its surprising what people will do when there's brass at stake:rolleyes:

The tucked and snipped ginger winker would be a hard act to follow.

She has a clear and speedy delivery when asking the questions, and some of the (scripted) acerbic put-downs are funny, but it's had it's day now.
