HD is definitely better than Standard Definition but like everything else, you get used to it and don't think about it. If you're happy with what you've got, just keep it till it's in the way or conks out. HD will be same price anyway before too long I think, so if you're happy enough you might as well wait.

its much clearer IMHO even our late 80's neighbour can see the difference on her quite old Binetone LCD.

switching football back to SD is like watching through a thin film of tracing paper now, n o real definition or crispness to any of the image

That was when I first saw the difference Ian, switching from SD HD it was like watching a different game

I'll have you know that only last week I was talking to a young lady and mentioned in passing it was my birthday soon, when I told her I was 65 she said never!!!!!!!! I though you were only in your early 50s :thankya:

I missed the days of the old tube televisions as the advent of LCD and LED TV sets gave us a massive reduction in picture quality. HD is a huge step forward now but unfortunately it's taken us a lot of time and money to get back to simply improving on what we had ten years ago.

They say you can't tell the difference if your TV is 36" or less. Something to do with the number of pixels?
