It was always a one-joke campaign. Market sounds like meerkat, so lets use those funny little animals in those David Attenborough documentaries.

It got a boost with a catch phrase - always good for extending advertising campaigns. Instead of saying simple, the meerkat says "simples". Hilarious!

Now its getting irritating. A very very silly advert showing meerkats visiting an office worker and giving him a cuddly toy of......a meerkat.

Quit while you are ahead, for god's sake!

Stupid advert, that appeals to the stupid.

Though it did make me laugh when they realised that if they could talk, meerkats wouldn't have Russian accents, and came up with some guff about them migrating from southern Africa.

Perhaps Accrington should rebrand itself as a Floral Meerkat Town.

Well we're told we do have an award winning Meerkat Hall.

Though sadly inside there are less meerkat stalls than there used to be.
