Black Mirror - The National Anthem
 

Will anyone be watching this tonight (Channel 4, 9pm)? If you're not already aware of it, a brief synopsis of the plot is that a female member of the Royal Family gets kidnapped and in order to secure her release, the Prime Minister has to have carnal relations with a pig, live on t'telly. That's about all I know.

Still, I don't suppose it would be an worse than having to watch half an hour of Corrie, Eastenders, Celebrity Come Dancing on Ice, X factor or any of the other crap which currently takes up 90% of TV broadcasting.

So sit back and enjoy.

I don't suppose many muslims will be watching it.

It's a British spin on the twilight zone by all accounts.As to Muslims watching it, I think you'd be surprised, they probably will watch just to confirm how barbaric, disgusting & depraved us infidels are. ;)

Ps. while not actually having slept with any pigs, how many blokes have woken up Sunday morning alongside some right growlers were they'd rather gnaw there arm off than wake last nights "Cracker" :D

I'm a fan of Charlie Brooker; dark satirical humour often with a good measure of attention grabbing immaturity :) I'm surprised something he's done has such a mainstream ad campaign. I hope they haven't watered it down too much to pander to prime time.

Sort of thing you'd think cutting edge if you were an eleven year old boy...and you'd written it.

The only interesting thing that was explored was the supremacy of today's technology media, over traditional printed and televised news.

Quite agree about the standards issue Eric, :D I've mentioned it elsewhere, I do have standards, they may be quite low & I often fail to achieve them :rolleyes: but they are standards. :D
