I wonder how many people behave in a negative way influenced by the TV and don't know it! Why are the majority of drama's about Police/Detectives and murder - murder - murder! The soaps are full of negativity especially Eastenders - then you get the copy cat killer! You rarely see a TV drama about someone positive - it's all Cops and Robbers and Detective stories about graphic murder and violence!

Blaming it on corrie (or a specific video game, or a specific heavy metal band or whatever - as has happened in the past) is trying to find a scapegoat for the failure of family, friends and society to notice that this person was about to go over the edge.

This person was going to kill his mother whatever his "inspiration". 99.999% of Corrie viewers got through the episode without murdering someone. Statistically, it shouldn't even be considered as a factor.
