Re: Upgrading the site...

I am back to blue.
The experience hasn't been wasted because it compelled me to install Firefox.
I have noticed that my daily scan for spyware catches zero now, due to Firefox.

Re: Upgrading the site...

I have also gone back to Blue, loads better and faster to load pages. Thanks Roy.

Re: Upgrading the site...

Thanks also Roy for adding teh mobile theme back in. For those of you with mobiles that have wifi or data packages it makes it even easier to get your accyweb kick anywhere!

I've tested it on my N95 and N80's and it works lovely on teh Nokia browser and Opera mini.

Re: Upgrading the site...

I'm sticking with the red for now. Have got used to it and quite like it. I may swap and change though.

Re: Upgrading the site...

Thanks for all the work that must have gone into ths Roy! I look forward to taking some time to have a look around and get reacquainted with all mi Accy pals!

I too am not a big one for change, especially when you guys throw in all that firefox, wordpad and "entwisi speak"! LOL:p I also noticed my name is now "Rindy Yellow!" I forgot teh meanings of all thecolor variations and wil have to research teh meanings agan. :>)

Be Well all!

Brian (ooh, and that was my 1300 post! wicked eh?)

Not sure if this is a site fault or a browser fault, I'm using Firefox 3.0b5.
As you can see from the pic the smileys disappear off the side of the page.

What browser do you use?
Did you get this before the upgrade?
I can't say I had noticed it before so not sure if its my browser or the upgrade

Edit - just tried Opera and it does it on that if I zoom in a little, seems like the main page can resize itself to fit the window but the smiley box can't so goes over the edge

I zoomed out "1 click" (Ctrl + 1 notch on the mouse wheel) and it fits on the screen nicely, very little difference in text size, only trouble is with it now is I don't get the flashing curser when I'm typing, OK till I want to edit something - which I usually have to :D

churchman phil 01-06-2008 15:59

Re: Upgrading the site...

I use Firefox as my browser and have done for a while now. Must be a coding problem on the forum that doesn't allow it to be re-sized in the same way as the rest of the page.

Re: Upgrading the site...

Just noticed that the little round thingy which shows when you are on-line had gone Red (if in Red skin I presume). This was Jaysay ... thought he had been banned for a while there, when I looked into his profile showed that he was private messaging .. is this the reason ?

MargaretR 05-06-2008 11:26

Re: Upgrading the site...

I noticed too - says he is invisible - searched my profile but can't see the facility to do it
I don't think it is connected to being occupied doing messaging

He also had an asterisk at the end of his name too .. must mean something ?

Sorry Jaysay, just using you as an example to this puzzling episode.:D

It was slow Bernie around 7 p.m. I put a thread up, and hadn't gone through within 5 minutes, then checked my Outward Express and Buttonsmum had replied .. so had gone through obviously, but I was still stuck on the egg-timer.

BERNADETTE 27-06-2008 23:13

Re: Upgrading the site...

It is just on here that I am running slow that is why it is puzzling me:confused:

Re: Upgrading the site...

It was running slow for me too earlier. Other sites were fine but all I was getting here for ages was the blank grey page.

Re: Upgrading the site...

mine is hanging after ;loading the header part of teh page. All 'content' takes another 10 seconds or so to appear.

As other, all other internet connectivity is fine.

derekgas 28-06-2008 06:52

Re: Upgrading the site...

Mine was doing that yesterday entwisi, seems ok this morning, I only have the usual one, my laptop, whatever I am doing, the page will minimise when I click inside the page, then click again and it goes back, but it can do this several times, if I clean up and defrag it goes better for a while, I have been told it is because it is vista!

entwisi 28-06-2008 06:58

Re: Upgrading the site...

Mmmm, mines still doing it this morning but I just disconnected from wifi and used my mobile as a bluetooth modem over 3G and it still 'stalled' but only for a second. Back on wifi and its into 10 seconds again.

Mick 28-06-2008 07:04

Re: Upgrading the site...

Well i am on Vista and not having any problems at all.
The site does tend to slow down during the night while it backs itself up though

derekgas 28-06-2008 07:23

Re: Upgrading the site...

Is yours desktop mick, cos mines laptop with touchpad mouse, it is particularly a problem in the arcade, because if I am on a timed game for example, it minimises as you are making a choice, then I have to expand the screen again and it times out before you get the screen back, lol.
