Yeah Roy,I'll agree with that.I'll put my vote to Doozer aswell.I got verbally abused the other night but I wasn't bothered I found it funny and enjoy a bit of childish name calling. But it is probably different for other people. Some people are easier offended than others.Or how about an over 18's chat ,the people in question would not have been able to enter then. But I realise this may not be possible.:D

We have already had a quite word with the members that caused the agro in the chat room the other night, as we have seen the Chat room log. They must have taken the huff because; to this day they haven’t been back. Pity really as we don’t like loosing members.

If there is a problem with a member in the chatroom click on his/her name and a list will come up just click on ignore problem solved

Leave Mick alone, he's busy getting me a print out of the log, it'll be better than winning the lottery when I sell it to the Sunday papers!

lol! Like slinky said, it's true the ignore function doesn't work :D I tried to put hatter on ignore cause he was doin my head in lol! All it does is stop them sending you private messages.

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

If it’s that bad and everyone’s not happy with it, then I suppose we could simply get rid of it.
To be honest thou, it’s not really that bad. We’ve had the odd bit of trouble in there before, but it soon gets sorted especially with everyone’s help. More often than not it takes a little bit more than just kicking someone out of the chat room as this could simply wind them up even more. A more permanent solution maybe required.
Anyways, you’ll have to wait and see what Roy says.

I bet, the two young ladies who started all this are probably reading this thread and having a good old laugh, happy with the knowledge that they caused it all. :D

Tinkerbelle 06-04-2006 21:39

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

I don't think people have taken this thread in the humour it was posted !!

I wasn't in the chatroom that night but have, in the past had some cracking arguments in there with some of the numpties. In seriousness we are all adults and no-one was phsed by the silly little girls that were up way past their bed time, it was said half in jest that it was about time doozer was a chat mod.

You cant get rid of the chatroom - what would we do without it? It's the room for letting off steam and for having a laugh! You cant get rid of it - what would me, tinks, slinks, hatter, doozer, simon, rindy do without it?

We'd end up with the banter flowing over into the threads and I'd be getting my hands slapped for thread wandering again!! :D

Madhatter 07-04-2006 01:58

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

Ah so this threads gone from we need doozer to protect us, to we can stick up for ourselves, to save the chat room.
I've got my own opinions on what happened and what should happen, but as they wasn't said to me I'll keep quiet.
Problem with the ignore is as tinks said it just stops pm's, she can ignore me still pm me but i can't pm her. I'm not sure why you'd pm someone that your ignoring unless your doing it to wind them up, and same goes for actually putting them on ignore. It sends an alert to the person your ignoring telling them that your ignoring them , even though you can both see the each others text. perfect for winding them up even more. so maybe not as good as it seems but not roys fault as he didn't design the chat system. Shame you reinstalled it the other week roy, up until then I had a ban option, I might have actually used it the other night.
Other than that it's a good system a great asset to the site and one of the main reasons I come on here, I just wish more people would use it .

Neil 07-04-2006 05:43

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

I am sure that you all know about creating private rooms ;). You can just move to a private room and not invite whoever is being a pain in the bum. If you keep an eye on new people appearing in main chat you can invite them to the private room and still leave the naughty ones out. Then you can report the trouble to a mod when one appears.
I think you probably stayed in main chat because you were enjoying the hassle :p

Mick 07-04-2006 06:26

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

There is a private room in chat you can use dont stay in the main chat area move to the madhouse then you can invite who you want and leave the rest out

We still want dooz as a chat mod ;) because we like him! So there! :p

It's just a suggestion to Roy, it's his decision at the end of the day whether there needs to be a mod in chat or not.

lol! Yes of course there's the private room function. I've already asked those that were online that night, why didn't they use it? Of course people enjoy it we have had some real laughs at the expense of the numpties that come in on occasions. (yes Neil I mean you :D)

Mick 07-04-2006 10:29

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

There is no point having a mod just for the chatroom
it would mean someone being up all night
and things cant be that bad as there has not been 1 report sent to the mods section if there is a problem REPORT it
roy is very busy at the min and has no time to spare.
so please leave him alone
if there is a problem you could copy the page and paste it and send it as a pm to a mod to look at but thats a last resort

Tinkerbelle 07-04-2006 11:17

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

 I’ll say it again! This thread was posted in light hearted fun from a conversation that spilled over from in the chatroom! Him knowing first hand what muppets me and slinky are, I’m hoping that Roy himself will also see the fun that it was intended. With now being told not to discuss it anymore in this thread I just wanted to set the record straight THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN THE CHATROOM!!!

By the way just as a side note …… I hear there’s a sale on humour for anyone that needs a top up! ;)

Right I’ll go and take a long walk and practice some breathing exercises before I say something I regret and get myself a nice shiny ban!

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

Yes but someone saying theyre going to find you and kill you isn't fun and should earn an instant ban.
It's one of the few things you don't say in any chat room no matter what, no matter what the wind up, or how much someone ****es you off. It's an unwritten rule that is rarely broken even by the whakos of the worst net irc or wap chat rooms or forums.
By the way, I've got my ban button back tonight, not that I'd use it.

Madhatter 07-04-2006 23:19

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

Also it doesn't come down to who you like, or don't like. it's (if roy were to want one which I doubt) who can be fair and unbiased regardless of who they like or dislike, and some one who can be called upon at most of the times chat is in use.

PILKYBUSDRIVER 07-04-2006 23:20

Re: DEAR Mr. Roy ( urgent attention)

I'd sign up to ban the "rude, offensive, disgusting" person who started this thread.
