Sticks when a new page is started, but then it's always done that.

Don't know if Roy has changed anything but things certainly seem to have changed for me anyway, haven't had double posts or white pages for a week or so now - hope I haven't spoke out too soon

Re: Accyweb problems

There’s been a definite improvement over the last two weeks but I’ve still noticed the odd glitch, nothing really to worry about thou.

Yep me too K.S.H. It was behaving so well too.

Maybe Len could do a bit more of that tweaking ;)

Oh no.. you mentioned Roy in a problem thread... Everyone run and hide.. Less is coming...

Re: Accyweb problems

Don't know if this will help Roy or not but when the site goes really slow it is showing something in the addressbar (Loading/transfering data from) at the bottom of Firefox about trade doubler or another that I can't remember but its something to do with google

Kipax thats not cricket showing an Irishman in a Scottish Clan outfit. :p At least its the Jacobian get up and not the Prince Charlie getup. :D

Niel they are suprisingly warm even when windy as they look like pantiloons in the wind. Besides bet Liam had a pair of Calvin Clines on. ;)

Re: Accyweb problems

After a couple of months were everything has been running well, it's back to double posts, posts that disappear, and non loading pages.

It's too frustrating.

Think I'll come back on when it's running better again.:(

WillowTheWhisp 05-09-2006 08:02

Re: Accyweb problems

You should have seen it last night when I had about a dozen copies of my post suddenly appear before my eyes, then when I followed it up they reduced to two!

accymel 05-09-2006 08:04

Re: Accyweb problems

It was really bad last night, i got kicked out of chat & forums just wouldnt reload so couldnt get back onto accyweb at all even trying fresh load.

SPUGGIE J 05-09-2006 08:20

Re: Accyweb problems

I wont comment on the only thing that disappears faster than some of the posts. It seems like it takes for ever to load a page and I put it down to using tabbing on Firefox yet still have the issue when single page or window. We have got some sneaky little gremlins causing mischief. Maybe the server has fallen out with us because we work it too hard.

KIPAX 05-09-2006 10:36

Re: Accyweb problems

Its like treacle at the moment... TOP TIP wehn replying to or composing a message make sure you copy it all CTRL+A then CTRL+C so if it dies and doesn't post as is happening you can simply paste in and try again by using CTRL+P

or you can use the mouse to select your text.. right click and copy.. then right click and paste to put back in.

or do a rindy and give up hahaha believe that when i see it :)

CTRL V for paste, CTRL P is Print IIRC :D

Re: Accyweb problems

THANKGOD it's not just mine!!!!! I have been really fed up with it today, and like Rindy might just stay away til it's sorted.....cos it really annoys the life out of me.

Is this the final death for Accyweb?? no-one seems to care much about it anymore..............where's Roy??

WillowTheWhisp 05-09-2006 13:36

Re: Accyweb problems

It's irritating but I certainly hope it isn't the demise of AccyWeb. It's far too useful and helpful to be defeated by technical hitches.

Anyone know any other local ish forums we can congregate if/when this one finally dies. Without Roy to keep it going it can't survive long as none of the other mods can correct any software/hardware issues. Roy must be around somewhere because someone must be paying the server costs.

garinda 05-09-2006 15:39

Too, too tiresome.

Still double posting, unloaded pages. Arghhhhhhhhhh!

Tealeaf has laid a bouquet in the Diana thread and when I go for a shufty it's not there.:(

Im getting really fed up meself not many of my posts survived the freeze, i can set up alternative on msn, google or yahoo albeit not as great as this site when going well but least its free & work reasonably well depends what ya want tho:rolleyes:

But for now im giving up trying to get nowhere fast on here:mad:

We could always go to the forum section of Hyndburn Lite ..... sorry Life.

Re: Accyweb problems

Come on guys I know it's annoying, none of us know Roy's personal situation and wht other commitments he has but I've always kinda got the feeling that accyweb was Roy's 'baby' and if he could sort it he would.

It would never be the same.

Please don't leave and let Accyweb die, I'll miss you all!! :(

accymel 05-09-2006 16:06

Re: Accyweb problems

unfortunately without maintenance it poss might do, specially if Roy has had enough of his baby. It so frustrating cos it takes forever to post something & then b*ggers up to point of reloading browser, seems this site is bugged to buggery!

WillowTheWhisp 05-09-2006 16:11

Re: Accyweb problems

I'm sure Mick will know where Roy is. Is Mick still around? I've been away in a field for weeks so have no idea what's what and who's where.

entwisi 05-09-2006 20:12

Re: Accyweb problems

I spoke to Mick this morning, I don't think he can do anything about the actual servers (which is what is causing the problems). Mick is only a moderator, not an administrator.

I believe Roy is out the country at the min, its a case of live with it till hes back I'm afraid

cherokee 05-09-2006 20:20

Re: Accyweb problems

MICK told me the same that roy is out of country and also said that roy wouldnt get rid of accyweb cus its his baby..
It is frusterating though last night chat was really slow and tonight it really isnt much better , but lets try and hang on in there a litte longer would be a shame if we all gave up on it ..

Well I have just done the unforgivable and joined Burnleyweb.com.

No-one on line LMAO but wtf it definatly loads a hell of a lot quicker than this old man....................:D

I reckon we can hi-jack burnley web til this cr*p is sorted.........

Give them buggers something to talk about b4 there server gets a complex.

It's kind of coming and going in fits and starts now. :D

I do post on a few other forums but being as how I live in Accy it's not the same as AccyWeb is it?

Thanks for that tink's you are exactly right, just to let you and the others know, I was speaking to Roy tonight.
He asked me to let his 'friends' know that since February he has been in and out of the country travelling to such exciting places as Siberia and Nottingham (you try getting a connection in Nottingham, erm sorry anyone from Nottingham I mean Siberia!).
He has not had a proper day off in all that time for his young family never mind accyweb. However he wants me to tell you that he knows there is a problem with the server and will sort it tomorrow (wednesday).
accyweb is and will always be his baby and he has no intention of abandoning it, he has great plans in fact for it's future but I will let him tell you those when he has a spare moment.

He also asked me to thank the mod's who have had to put up with quite alot of flak dished out by the more intolerant amongst us during this time, (he hinted that there would be a big drink in it for your efforts on his behalf).

Right I've done as I was asked now I'm out of here, yet again thanks Tinks I'll drop you some karma off as soon as/if ever I manage to get this post on line!
Lots of love to those that deserve it,

Less
As we speak, Roy is out sourcing some newer more reliable servers!:)

garinda 05-09-2006 23:13

Re: Accyweb problems

Thanks Less.

We do all appreciate the problems, it's just so frustrating, and this thread is a place to vent your spleen...if you can manage to post in it.:D

Happily it seems normal service has been resumed tonight though.:)

accymel 05-09-2006 23:24

Re: Accyweb problems

Thanks Less for putting minds to rest:D

Sorry if i came off bad just dont want to see a good forum go & no wonder its Roys baby hehehehe:D Frustration set in but now been answered - many thanks :D:D

Mick 06-09-2006 08:57

Re: Accyweb problems

Right i have spoken to Roy this morning (wednesday) as accyweb did go down this morning but everything should be ok now and he will be working on things over this weekend .
so here is hoping and thanks for waiting.

WillowTheWhisp 06-09-2006 09:16

Re: Accyweb problems

Shame on Firefox for trying to tell me that AccyWeb doesn't exist! Mind you, it didn't stop me from keep trying between washloads and cleaning up! :D
