it's weird, I have reported so much spam on that thread alone, so come on what do we reckon attracts them to that thread??

Re: Innapropriate post
It seems they tend to dig up inactive threads. I've reported spam on lots of threads which haven't been otherwise posted on for a while.

Re: Innapropriate post
Most of these resent spammers are not people they are some sort of automatic programs that can register them selves into the forums and create posts, usually just a single post then they leave. Why they single out particular inactive threads, I don’t know. Perhaps someone with the knowledge could tell us.
We receive quite a few reports from members about spammers and we really do appreciate this because as you can imagine we can’t be everywhere at once and it especially saves time, the sooner it’s found the sooner it’s removed. So many thanks to all that have sent in reports. :) |
Re: Innapropriate post
I've noticed quite a few of these spam posts, maybe its because I am on a 8 hour time difference and usually check out the site late night /early morning UK time , but thanks for the tip Mel about the Red Triangle , I thought it was the button to give bad karma so never used it :dummy:

Re: Innapropriate post
I don't know what the link was but I bet it was porn' and in this case the dirty little robot probably saw '16' in the title and chucked it in there hoping that title would attract the pervs and then get them to go on to their site!
It seems to be getting like when you search the web, you really have to think hard about the title of your search if you don't want pages and pages of porn' sites. I think we've already discussed the consequences of searching for female groups at some time, for example both 'spice' and 'girl' are not to be recommended as a title for a search, (mind you even if it brought up 'spice girls', would you really want to do a search?). |
Re: Innapropriate post
Boyzone is another one that catches people out, especially children and teenagers.
