Karma

When you look in your profile, it gives you the post, date, time & comment on the Karma, but is there anyway to tell who give you the Karma???

Having finally reached a good amount of "Power," I finally felt able to give Karma. Forgot I was suppose to sign it then forget all who I gave it. Kinda embarassing but lesson learned I hope!

I always sign mine, good or bad. Only ever given bad karma twice.

Billcat 11-01-2007 16:35

Re: Karma

I only give karma, and I try to find reasons to do so as much as I am allowed. I have never taken karma, though admit that I have been tempted to do so.

The reason - positive reinforcement is a basic part of my philosophy. Liberally recognize folks who are doing things that I like or admire, as that will usually provide them with an incentive for doing more of the same. Hopefully, it will also remind them to give karma as well! The only cost is a minute or two of my time.

I don't give negative karma because it can all too easily cause the board to degenerate into a karma-taking war. As far as I am concerned, that would not make this a fun place to post. If I am going to disagree with folks (and I certainly am not shy about expressing my opinions), I'd rather do it in a reasoned manner, rather than a sneak attack on karma.

BTW, all my karma comments are signed and will continue to be so.

Am I blushing, or did I just turn into an Aussie for a moment? In any case, my face went red.;)

One of these years, going to have to visit the Land Down Under. Always have wanted to go there, and have heard many wonderful reports from friends who have. Given the huge distance, however, I'd want to go for at least three weeks.

Based on the old advertising campaign, it's not a Whopper unless 1) it takes two hands to handle it, and 2) you can always have it your way!
