Emoticons

Have you noticed that when you click on a :) in the side panel, you get a :) and the same for most of them - but when you click on a http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...mileys/mad.gif you think you get a http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...mileys/mad.gif because that's what you see in your post as you type , but when it appears in the thread it's a  and when you click on a http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...mileys/eek.gif you think you get a http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...mileys/eek.gif but you actually get a  in the thread.

Re: Emoticons

LOL! Yeah I'd noticed.

Another thing I'd noticed is they change positions in the main big menu. I just get used to were they are in the menu, like, for example, the balloons :balloon: :balloon2: :balloon3: I use in any birthday threads and then they up and move house on me to a different position ....... Does that make sense? It did to me ;)

Re: Emoticons

This is because we have quite a few smilies that are similar and each smiley has its own independent url address.
Trouble is, you don’t want to be typing large url address into your post each time you wish to add a smiley. So there is a system whereas in stead of typing the large url address you only need to add a small piece of code, a name '' it’ really a kind of a short cut to the large url address such as  = http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/images/accysmilies/eek.gif

Problem here is we have smilies with the same name. So if you select  you could end up with one or the other as is happening here. What needs to be done is either we delete the duplicated smilies from the directories or edit their names.

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...milies/eek.gif - name = - url = http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...milies/eek.gif - name = - url = http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/images/accysmilies/eek.gif

Sorry for not providing a more technical way of putting it but I hope you get the gist.

:)

Roy got the picture files mixed up that's all, I talked to him once about it.

To fix the bug all that is needed is to copy the eek.gif file from the smilies folder to the accysmilies folder.

I noticed that we had two smiley folders. I suppose one needs to be removed. Copying the eek: gif file or any other similar gifs from one folder to another will produce multiples of the same/ similar gifs in that folder and will also, probably have the same name 'as we have now'.
I say, Keep the good gifs and dump the not so good or, if we are to keep the not so good gifs then copy them into one folder and rename the duplicated names such as eek1:, eek2: etc

:)
