Chat room or no chat room?
 

I know the old chat room wasn't used much but I have to say i miss it... Sometimes it was good when people came on and you could just PM and say get in the chat and have a bit of a conversation.. Does anyone else miss it? Would you like me to start another one? Will you use it if I do start a new one?

Bring it on.... I had one or two good nights in the chatroom. How about doing the restricted times thing and see how it goes. Or just see what the poll says.

I for one dont miss the chat room, but thats not to say that other people dont.

I too don't miss the chat room. Everytime i went on i really struggled to say anything, it took that long to post. Don't know whose fault it was. But if you opened it up again i would certainly give it another try.

Roy if you open the chat room again how about just having it for say 4 hours a day then people know when to use it say 6 to 10

make it 6 hours....4 to 10 (to allow for the time difference amongst us exiles)

I think if we do get one then it will be only open on certain days as well. Open every day has proved not to work, if it was specific days at specific times it may work... anyway, the best I can find at the mo costs $100 a year so I'm still looking, although I have just cut a deal with the bee radio for the advertising so maybe the money can go towards that?...hmmmm...

I used to pop in quite a lot and say hi to people, it was a bit more personal. But please consider that if you had a time restriction, people are in different time zones, i'm 5 hours behind!

good point about the time zones littlemo, i never thought of that and I'm 3 hours ahead!! I'll look into getting a chat room installed this weekend.

ok the chat room is now with us and you can access it from the link at the top (CHAT).. smileys will be added eventually but for now please just test it and let me know how it is.

Bring it on - Roy, we used the chatroom alot after we got into trouble for our posts turning into conversations. I will be glad to see it back Roy then it saves us keep getting a slap on the hands :D We also liked testing it's censorship but that's a different story lol!

I’m all for the Chat room and I think it should be open 24-7 so that anyone at anytime can disappear with their mates and chat away without having to use the boards for chatting. If not, then the threads start getting clogged up with unrelated chit-chat, to everyone’s annoyance.
So I’m up for it.

Why don't you invite certain people who are involved in hot issues of the day in Accy to come into the chat room as a one off. You could promote the event and then people could have debates with them. There would have to be a moderator in there as well to ensure that it didn't get abusive. It might get people using the chat room a bit more.

Me too ... most of us in North America seem to be in the same zone .... but its still 5 hours .... perhaps we could tow England over here, there is lots of room to park it in Lake Superior ... in fact, it might just fit into Lake Ontario.:confused:

Noticed on the Lancashire Online site, that there is information under the 'Who's on line' thingy re. 'Who's in the Chat Room' .. any chance of us having this ? Would like to know before I enter this scary zone.

its allready there if you look
at the top of the page click on chat and there is a drop down menu one being "who is chatting"

Oh yeh, stupid me .. shows never looked at it before .. thought it might have taken me straight there, and didn't want that. Well, nobody in there at the moment, so might look around whilst it is quiet.. :)

I am at it again how does the chat room work? Sounds like some people enjoy it and some don't, sorry for being a pest, but I am getting there.Please bear in mind that till I joined accyweb I had never really used a computer before, so everything you good people teach me is really appreciated.
