No email alerts to thread updates
 

anyone else noticed they haven't been getting 'email alerts' when a thread they have joined is updated ? is it a problem at "my end" or a change to Accy web , other emails seem to get thru ok

If you go onto your profile on the left hand side "Settings And Options" there is a box in there to say whether you want notification. Check it is set properly:)

i never have steeljack, maybe its set that way in me profile.:confused: i probably set it n forgot, get enough e-mails without them .lol

all settings are set ok , system was ok yesterday, only today its happening , thought maybe a glitch in the system somewhere :confused:

Ah well I am lost as well then, mine is set not to receive notification. Maybe somebody more techie can help:)

I dont want them they are a pain in the backside,,,if you dont check your emails everyday you find hundreds of them,,,its bad enough with all the spam,,,,

not sure what you are going on about , maybe if you respond to hundreds of threads you will get hundreds of replies .:rolleyes:

the way Accy web was working for me ...was ...( read slowly and don't move your lips) if I replied to a thread, I would get an email notification if there was a reply ( there could be 20 other replies behind that one, but would only get one notification, i.e. overnight hours/different time zones) Why would someone want/have to trawl through all the "new posts" to find the one thread in you had a particular interest in , that can be done later . ;)

Well theres an easy way to test, somebody reply to this thread now I've turned on notifications. :D

Good morning (8 hour time difference here ) nope, no overnight notifications of any additions to any thread I have joined , and scrolling thru the new posts there are several postings .

Strangely enough, I have just changed my I.P. & my alerts have started working, I switched them off years ago. Well I'm off to my profile to get rid of them again, I don't need telling twice I've made a fool of myself.

I've tried but still get notification, can't wait until BT cancel that email addy, start afresh with the virgin.

It's working for me, but seems to be playing games for you and Less. I'm off out in a moment but will have a look when I'm home (or possibly tomorrow if its late!)

i turned mine off ages ago, i reply to a lot of threads and it got really annoying!
